Walking into a Pilates studio for the first time can feel like a big step, especially if the equipment looks unfamiliar. The good news: your first private session is designed around you, and no experience is needed.
It starts with a conversation
Your instructor will ask about your goals, how you move day to day, and any injuries or areas that need care. This helps them choose the right starting point for your body.
You'll learn the foundations
Expect to work on breathing, alignment and core control, the building blocks of every Pilates exercise. Your instructor will introduce the reformer and other equipment step by step, so nothing feels rushed.
Everything is adjusted for you
In a private session, every exercise can be modified. If something doesn't feel right, your instructor changes it on the spot. That's the biggest difference from a crowded group class.
What to bring
Wear comfortable, fitted clothes you can move in. Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in. If you have questions about anything else to bring, just ask when you book.
Most people leave their first session feeling taller, looser and more aware of how they move. It's a great place to start.
